📅 March 6, 2026 — Free Weekly Newsletter w/ Ms. G, J.D.
First. Thank you all for being patient.
A LOT has changed with me very rapidly within the last few weeks. If you have ever experienced quicksand, then you know where I am coming from. When you are so overwhelmed, and the more you fight, the faster you sink deeper.
I am not fully there, but making my way back up for air. So, once again, thank you.
I had to take a step back from the daily #24in24 the last week.
I took a planned break earlier this month, fully well committed to diving right back in once I got back; in less than a week, all hell had broke loose.
That, is on me. I did not mean to cause concern, although your girl Ms. G here… I am woman enough to admit, I am struggling; ha!
Regardless, I am armoring up, not quitting; it’s gone too far for that now. I just wanted to touch bases with you to apologize, say thank you, and make sure you know I am doing okay, all things considered.
Thank you to those who reached out; either to check on me or hold me accountable.
My mom says that compliments and criticisms should be taken in the same regard because even the most beautiful flowers need both sunlight and rain in order to grow; you take what you can to make you better not bitter.
I am not mad, but rather moved by it tbh. 🤲
That said, SO MUCH has happened since last Friday, I will do my best to summarize for this weeks newsletter and provide some resources for you to check out on your own. I broke it down into 1. Iran, 2. Epstein, 3. Congress, 4. Courts, and 5. General Headlines
Iran conflict tops this list as it kicked off the week.
Crazy how it always seems to happen on a Friday, when the markets are closed the next day.
First, for historical context and background of the conflict, I will recommend giving Dr. Roy Casagranda a listen. He is a professor of political science in Austin, Texas. History, politics, culture, etc. Thoroughly enjoyed his lectures over the years, and I am sure once you click his YT, his face will be familiar as he has had several videos go viral for quite some time. You can also watch the 4 part documentary Hostages on HBO MAX.
When it comes to military-type updates on strikes, etc, I have 2 instagrams [Preston Stewart: prestonstew_ & Kagan Dunlap kagan.dunlap] I check on regularly. With AI fakes a plenty, and now everyone becoming a wartime correspondent, I like people who I have seen a verified long before the immediate conflict who provide sources and fact check. If you have other folks you are following, please feel free to comment on the Substack thread, and I will update once I check them out.

Epstein
[NY] U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian granted preliminary approval on Tuesday to an agreement for Epstein's estate to pay as much as $35M to resolve a class action lawsuit that accused 2 of Epstein's advisers of aiding and abetting his sex trafficking of young women and teenage girls. The deal would bring an end to a 2024 lawsuit filed against Epstein's former personal lawyer Darren Indyke and former accountant Richard Kahn, who are co-executors of Epstein's estate. In the 2024 lawsuit, lawyers at Boies Schiller Flexner said Indyke and Kahn helped Epstein create a complex web of corporations and bank accounts that let him hide his abuses and pay victims and recruiters. Epstein's estate previously set up a restitution fund that paid out $121M to victims. The estate also paid $49M in additional settlements to victims. Daniel Weiner, a lawyer for Indyke and Kahn, said neither man admitted wrongdoing or conceded misconduct as part of the settlement. The judge scheduled a hearing for September 16 to consider granting final approval.
Amid media reports and congressional pressure, the DoJ released additional records Thursday related to Epstein after saying that 15 documents had been mistakenly coded as duplicates and therefore omitted from earlier disclosures required by the 2025 Epstein Files Transparency Act. The newly posted materials include FBI interview notes from 2019 in which a woman alleged that both Epstein and DJT sexually assaulted her during separate incidents in the 1980s when she was a minor.
House Oversight Committee votes to subpoena AG Pam Bondi for testimony on Epstein files. The Republican-led committee voted to subpoena the attorney general after a motion by Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C.
After threats to subpoena him, Howard Lutnick agrees to appear before US House panel on Epstein network
Congress
First, the Senate rejected a measure to constrain DJT’s authorities in Iran in a 47 to 53 vote; then, the HOR rejected their own version; the vote was 212 to 219, largely along party lines.
DHS Kristi Noem Testifies and then gets fired by the end of the week:

The HOR on Wednesday batted down an effort from Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) to publicly release all reports on file with the House Ethics Committee on investigations into members of Congress regarding allegations of sexual harassment of staff or of a sexual relationship with a member of their staff
in a 357-65-1 vote.
Rep. Nancy Mace also under House investigation over alleged improper reimbursement requests; accused of improperly claiming more than $9K in funds meant to subsidize housing costs for members of Congress
HOR Speaker Johnson and other GOP leaders join Dems in call for Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX) to drop reelection bid after admitting affair with staffer who later committed suicide by setting herself on fire. Gonzales had initially denied the affair altogether.
As it stands now amid the shutdown 2026, the House-passed DHS funding bill (HR 7744) has head to the Senate, but a Senate vote Friday wouldn't happen, according to Senate Majority Leader John Thune's statement on the Senate floor Thursday. So, the partial shutdown continues. The Senate returns Monday, March 9, 2026, with a vote to end the government shutdown 2026 and reopen the government expected. Still expected to face continued roadblocks from Senate Democrats, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who had shot down the measure unless ICE is reined in.
Brian C. McGinnis, a Marine Corps veteran and Green Party candidate for U.S. Senate in North Carolina [follow him here: Brian McGinnis], was forcibly removed from a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, after interrupting the proceedings with a protest over U.S. policy in the Middle East. During the hearing, McGinnis stood and began shouting objections to what he characterized as the U.S. movement toward war with Iran in support of Israel.
Footage of the removal shows multiple officers attempting to pull McGinnis away from a doorway as he held onto the frame. During the struggle, Senator Tim Sheehy of Montana, a GOP member of the committee and former Navy SEAL, left his seat and physically assisted officers in removing McGinnis. The video shows Sheehy grabbing McGinnis as officers attempted to carry him out. McGinnis allegedly suffered a broken arm during the struggle.
Officers later arrested McGinnis on charges including assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, and unlawful demonstration. Capitol Police later stated that McGinnis “got his own arm stuck in a door to resist our officers and force his way back into the hearing room,” and reported that officers sustained minor injuries during the encounter.
‘What happened in Texas is a warning’: advocates say GOP suppressed votes in the primaries of Jasmine Crockett and James Talarico of Texas. Jasmine Crockett concedes, James Talarico wins Texas Democrat Senate primary.
Courts
The DoJ proposed a new rule on Wednesday purporting to block state bars from investigating and punishing DOJ lawyers accused of violating state ethics requirements. Under this rule, AG Pam Bondi could freeze state bars’ probes until the department has undertaken its own independent review of any allegations.
The above should be read in conjunction with:
DJT’s Pageant Atty Lindsey Halligan is being investigated by the Florida Bar after complaints were filed about how she handled prosecutions while serving as a federal prosecutor. The complaints, submitted by the watchdog group Campaign for Accountability, accuse Halligan of pursuing criminal cases against political opponents of DJT despite objections from career prosecutors. In a letter sent last month to the group, the Florida Bar said it had opened an investigation and was also reviewing reprimands Halligan previously received from judges related to her conduct in court. The inquiry will determine whether her actions violated professional rules for attorneys.
Minnesota filed a federal lawsuit against the DJT administration this week, saying the federal government has “weaponized Medicaid against MN as political punishment.” At issue is approximately $250M that the state spent on Medicaid last summer. The administration said it is holding off on matching that money amid allegations of fraud.
Judge Jia Cobb of US District Court for the District of Columbia ruled on Monday for the third time that DHS cannot bar members of Congress from making unannounced visits to ICE detention facilities. It came in response to a policy announced in January by DHS Sec Kristi Noem that required members of Congress to provide a 7-day notice before visiting ICE facilities; 8 HOR members brought the suit, arguing that the appropriations rider attached to DHS funds prohibits “‘using’ appropriated funds ‘to prevent’ members of Congress from ‘entering, for the purpose of conducting oversight,’ specific DHS facilities.” Plaintiffs claimed that this phrase barred DHS from imposing the policy.
Secretary Noem countered that the policy is supported by funding from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), which does not impose the same restriction.
Judge Cobb ruled for the plaintiffs on the basis of prior judicial opinions. As a result of this ruling, the policy will be blocked all together, allowing members of Congress unfettered access to ICE detention facilities.
A coalition of Democratic attorneys general and governors across 24 US states are suing Donald Trump to block his latest round of tariffs. The WH is planning to enact a new 15% tariff on all imports after the supreme court declared DJT’s “liberation day” tariffs illegal. The tariffs have yet to go into effect, though the WH said the new rate would start this week. The lawsuit, led by NY’s AG, Letitia James, argues that DJT does not have the authority to impose these tariffs, and demands states are refunded for tariff costs. Attorneys general from 21 other states, along with the governors of KY and PA, are joined in the suit, which was filed on Thursday in the US court of international trade.
SCOTUS grants GOP’s request to pause order to redraw NY congressional map. On Monday, they ruled that NY can keep using its current congressional map for the 2026 elections after pausing a lower-court order that required the state to redraw the map to increase representation for Black and Latino voters. The decision came after a lawsuit over the boundaries of the NY's 11th congressional district, which includes Staten Island and parts of Brooklyn, where challengers argued the map diluted minority voting power.
The United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit ruled that DJT acted within his authority when he suspended the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program shortly after taking office in 2025, reversing most of a lower-court ruling that had blocked the policy. Writing for the court, Judge Jay Bybee said Congress granted the president broad power under immigration law to suspend the entry of “all aliens or any class of aliens,” meaning the administration could halt refugee admissions even though more than 100,000 refugees had already been vetted and were preparing to enter the United States. The case was brought by refugees, sponsors, and nonprofits after DJT signed Executive Order 14163, which halted refugee processing, stranded applicants mid-process, and cut funding to resettlement groups established under the Refugee Act of 1980. A federal judge, Jamal N. Whitehead, had previously issued injunctions blocking the order, but the appeals court ruled the challengers were unlikely to succeed in arguing the suspension violated the law. However, the Ninth Circuit did find that the government likely acted improperly when it terminated funding agreements for services helping refugees already admitted to the United States, such as housing and job assistance, because canceling those agreements left the government unable to meet its legal obligations to refugees already resettled in the country.
Judge Richard Eaton of the U.S. Court of International Trade ruled companies are entitled to refunds for Trump tariffs overturned by the Supreme Court. In a defeat for the DJT administration, the U.S. Court of International Trade said all “importers of record” were “entitled to benefit” from the ruling against the sweeping tariffs.
The Supreme Court of Virginia indicated, for the second time, that a voter referendum enabling new congressional districts should go forward; greenlights April 21 referendum again

I’d like read the rationale of the Supreme Court regarding decision to let law stand regarding informing parents regarding changes in gender choice. Stinks. If child has a parent or both who will harm the child over this issue it is a big problem.
